Crystal Report as fragile as it can be!!!

I am using crystal report since v8.5….and it was very unstable. Putting and integrating it altogether was a real pain….Just by giving some drag and drop or autolinking (to the database) capability in the face doesnot make it a proper robust software……Why do people still use it??? The answer is because of its unholy marrage to VB6 and all visual studios uptil now……..Why do MS has to link with such a meager software, when they are  shouting from the top of Redmund on Robustness, Dependability and stability and coming out with real futuristic version like .NET2005…….Hanging around with crystal report in this point of a time and integrating them with itself does nothing but gives a bad taste to the users who have no go but to use crystal report, thus questioning the stability and becoming apprehensive(again!!) on the usability and development feasibilty of .NET.

By the way .net has integrated Crystal report 10 whole heartedly and trust me it is same or as worse as its other two versions……I heard Crystal report 11 is in the market and its going gaga oner incorporating a concept of Business Objects to their software……..However if the core is not stable and robust, these fancy clothes won’t take much time to shed off.

Yup……………5 days in the office……i am all most back to the classes….only this time its the oops class and not the college one……class and components everywhere….good to be in  .NET 2005 only now if the license comes a little early…..

Intel…..Inside!!

I went to their new (well about 2 yrs old campus) in
Bangalore couple of weeks back…….saw it….. loved it…… admired it and was awstruck.

That campus would probably be the most sophisticated, well planned and absolutely hi tech in the face of bangalore.

Mind u i have already seen the Infy campus, yahoo building, Microsoft office and probably all the hot contenders……but seeing this one was a new experience……Thanx to my Didi got a chance to get a close view…to bad she is now in us.
