This Jet-Kingfisher joining up and the things that followed like chopping of sectors and people from the payroll is really really sad.
Now I guess modern India gets a taste of what really a capitalist economy means or in the other words blindly following the bad/mal practices of American economy. You know chopping of jobs of 800-1000 people is not a simple thing, people might think its not unheard of in India!! Banks did it, factories did it from time to time!! You know what banks did was giving 40-45 up people voluntary retirements!!!
Things which happened with factories are well documented and is probably a history, in case of Bengal it was mostly the faults of the marwari business men and idiot and corrupt labour union heads. But here young people coming out of college and institutions, taking this industry seriously as serious career option, giving their prime and formidable years to it, are shown the door. What good is an industry if it cannot give or rather sustain careers of bright and young Indians, what good are these Indian companies anyways.
The funniest part is after all this they still want the bail out packages from the government. FOR WHAT??!?? I mean you have already shred-ed more than half of your crews, you have jacked up prices of the tickets. By the way isn’t it what capitalist economy is all about and who knows it better then them cause they are the ones who proactively did hire and fire in the first place isnt it. So that was fun right, firing people saying the market has open up. I mean government did not asked them to bloat up there employees in the first place. And isn’t it a law of the economy that if you can’t run your thing either you shut down or get buy out by somebody else??
Frankly theres not much of a rocket science opening up an aviation service industry, you donot do much, It’s not much more than a glorified transport business, where you buy some cars and put it in-line for rent a cab, its not like you are making a jet engine for god sake!! I really say if government give them money might as well take some stocks cause if things are not controlled in time anyways things have to be taken care-off later on, “Fed taking over all the big investment banks in US” rings any bell!?!
I really would like to see how the big national parties would react to it and see things unfold, cause otherwise the small regional parties would anyways exploit this already messed up situation!
